What you see first in optical illusion can show if you're 'lonely' or a 'leader'

It appears optical illusions aren't only fun to look at, but some believe they can be used to reveal hidden personality traits you might have. Optical illusions use colour, light and patterns to play tricks on our vision. As well as being fun, they are also believed to help us better understand vision, and show how our eyes and brain work together.

Some people believe optical illusions can also be used as personality tests, which involve looking at an image that can be viewed as several different things. And what you see first is supposed to be able to reveal certain details about your personality.

These tests, based on psychology, are a fun way of learning about yourself. One optical illusion has been causing a debate online recently, after it was shared by psychologist Marina Neuralean on TikTok. And according to the TikToker, what you see first can help reveal your true personality.

She explained: "The test will show what kind of person you are. If you see a bird, you have big goals but sometimes you feel lonely. If [you see] two crocodiles then you are a leader and don't like to be controlled."

The optical illusion was also shared by TikTok channel @psychologylove100, which explained a similar test: "What you see first will reveal a very specific aspect of your personality." It goes on to show the image and asks people what they saw first - crocodiles, a bird of a face.

According to the Psychology Love channel, if you saw the crocodiles, you're likely a very sensitive and creative person, who is able to see beauty in simple things. They added: "You are often inspired by your surroundings. You have a great imagination and are able to think innovatively to solve problems. You're draw to the arts, music and literature."

However, if you saw the bird, perhaps an eagle, you're more likely to be an observant and analytical person. The video continues: "You have a keen mind and are able to see the finer details in things. You're also very perceptive and able to understand things quickly. You are drawn to science, mathematics, and logic."

They also claim some people can see a face, or a profile, within the image. Those who spot that are said to be rational people with a "strong sense of logic". The video adds: "They are able to see things from different angles and understand different points of view."

In the comment section on TikTok, many were baffled by the illusion. One person said: "No matter how you look at it, there's no bird in it." Another agreed, adding: "2 crocodiles, I'm searching a bird by applying physics method but still can't find them." However, someone else explained: "The bird is the mouths of the crocodiles tail is the between the bottom jaw beak is the tip between the top of the crocodiles."
